The Jonathan Schmid Training offers process-oriented movement training for long-term health, personal growth, and self-awareness.
At JST we see movement not just as exercise, but as a way to explore life, yourself and the world around you.
Our approach is rooted in diversity. Martial arts, dance, strength training, mobility, nature practice – we draw from many disciplines and combine them into one coherent process. What matters is not mastering a single skill, but learning how to learn, and allowing that process to change you. This work is for anyone with an open mind. It doesn’t matter where you start, how old you are, or what your current level is. We meet you where you are and walk the path together – step by step, breath by breath, movement by movement.
Group training is at the heart of JST. We meet in small groups, inside the Bewegungsraum Allgäu – a renovated barn in the Bavarian countryside. The idea is not only to train together, but to learn together: to explore new movements, to challenge ourselves, and to support each other. The groups are mixed in age and experience, and everyone trains at their own pace.Find out more at www.bewegungsraum-allgaeu.de
Not everyone can join in person, which is why there is also the option to work together online. Online Support means that you receive guidance, training plans, video material, and ongoing feedback. It’s flexible. You can practice wherever you are, and still be connected to the process. This type of work allows you to dive deeper into certain aspects of movement and philosophy, and to practice at your own rhythm.
For those who want individual attention, there is the option of one-on-one work. Here, the sessions are shaped entirely around your needs – whether that’s building strength, improving mobility, working on handstands or floor movement, or simply finding a healthier rhythm in daily life. Personal training can also serve as a starting point, before joining group practice.
Workshops give the chance to step out of everyday life and spend a few hours or days fully immersed in practice. They can be focused on physical topics, like floorwork, strength, or mobility – or more open, involving philosophy, discussion, and reflection. Some take place in Hamburg, some in the Allgäu, and sometimes abroad. The atmosphere is informal and exploratory, more like a shared research project than a rigid seminar.
The Online Support (OS) is our way of working together beyond location. It’s made for people who want structured guidance and inspiration for their training – whether the goal is to recover from injuries, build strength, improve mobility, deepen skills, or simply feel more at home in their body. You don’t have to live nearby to be part of this process. Online Support allows us to share ideas, offer structure, and guide your practice step by step – no matter where you are in the world. There are two ways we can work together:
Offer 1 – Training Plan
This is for you if you want a clear plan but don’t need ongoing support.
After filling out an anamnesis form, we create three consecutive training phases (each lasting six weeks) that build on each other. The content is entirely tailored to you and comes with detailed explanations, structured PDFs, and exercise videos.Offer 2 – Ongoing Support
This is for you if you want regular feedback and a process-oriented approach.
We design your training step by step, adjusting phases of 4–8 weeks depending on your development. Every two weeks, we meet for a feedback call (60 min) to discuss progress, questions, and new directions. The work is not only technical – it’s also reflective. You’ll get templates to track your own process and to look at training as a living practice.

"I am super happy with the training plan I received from Jonathan and his team. This gave me the opportunity to work specifically on my own physical project. It's great how holistically a topic that initially seems purely physical is structured and how specifically it was tailored to my situation. In the course of the training process, my desire for more grew, which is why I am now going through the Training & Education program and am very happy with this training and challenge so far. The shared knowledge, experiences and perspectives are simply life-enriching."
